“Since I’m not sure what you’ve read or been told, I’ll tell you what submission is to me and probably most, if not all submissives, It’s more than a sexual experience, Mr. Morrison. It’s a bond so powerful that it contains the very soul of the submissive. A man’s domination and acceptance of the gift of submission is the greatest expression of love I believe there to be.”
Sawyer Morrison is in training to become a Dominate. His interest was sparked through glimpses into the lifestyle via his friends Dylan and Isabel. He is a dominate man in his professional life and finds himself wanting to be that way in his personal one as well. He asks for guidance and training from his friends. Sawyer’s wife is deceased and his current relationship is on hold because of his desire to explore his dominate needs. He is a former CIA agent and current security expert. He has done many things in his life for which he is neither proud of or ashamed. He is a man with secrets.
Sarah is a submissive and a had lived that way for years with her first husband who is deceased. She is just starting to venture back into her former world. Sarah is a nurse in a hospital for the criminal insane. She must be in control of her surrounds and her patients, yet on a personal level she needs to relinquish that control to be fulfilled and happy. She has been tasked with teaching Sawyer the submissive point of view. She is to help Sawyer understand what a submissive needs from their Dominate, to understand the give and take in a relationship that is outside the societal norm.
There are sexual situations in this book, however if you are looking for raunchy erotica this is not where you will find it. This book is more a look into the emotional and psychological aspects of the BDSM lifestyle. I found it very insightful and well written. The characters are complete, you get to know them and understand their needs. Watching their journey into been whole and happy was delightful and insightful.
